This historic riverfront cottage sits high above the Kalamazoo River connecting Saugatuck to Lake Michigan. It is a short walk to downtown restaurants and shops. There is sleeping accommodations for up to 8 people. Recent remodeling upgrades include central air conditioning, new paint and carpeting throughout, a flat screen TV/entertainment center and a large hot tub. There is a large screened porch which sits 40 feet above the river and opens into the living room and kitchen allowing for a flowing indoor/outdoor lifestyle. The view of the boat traffic and wildlife from this porch is unbelievable. The master bedroom is on the ground level and has a comfortable queen bed. The ground floor also has a large dining/living/great room with a queen sized sofa-bed. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom down (one with queen bed & one with twin beds). The lower level also has a wood deck covering the full width of the cottage with an equally great view of the river. There are fully equipped kitchens on both levels with a washer/dryer on the lower. Except for the hottest days, the central air conditioning is generally not needed as the cottage is comfortably cooled by the river/lake breezes and the overhead fans. Small boats can be tied up to the seawall on the riverfront level where there is also a big lawn with lounge seating and a fire pit. Fishing from the seawall is usually productive. Weekend and weekly rental of the upper or lower level is possible in the off season. Pets are allowed with owner's approval.
