The Mill-pond Cottage is an historic Saugatuck landmark and due to its uniqueness and beauty, may be the most photographed site in the city. Although the mill looks very much as it has for over a hundred years, it was recently enlarged and completely remodeled. The cottage, lower level, has one bedroom with a queen bed and an adjoining bath and laundry room. There is a queen sized, sofa-bed and half-bath in the living room adjoined by the kitchen and dining area. The outdoor deck has a table and chairs and gas grill, making this a home away from home. The cottage has central air conditioning. It also has wonderful views of the mill-pond, the spillway that powers the wheel, and a lovely creek that joins the Kalamazoo River. It is the perfect get-a-way, where you can experience the romance of a running stream and pond (with its own family of ducks) and yet be within a short (two block) walk to all of Saugatuck's fine shops and restaurants.
