This charming riverfront cottage was owned by one of West Michigan's best known artists. The rustic cottage has a number of decorative touches that reflect the artist. It is located high above the Kalamazoo River connecting Saugatuck Harbor and Lake Michigan. There are two bedrooms; one with a queen size bed and one with twin beds. The beds are new. The living/dining/kitchen great room has a unique red fireplace and a majestic view of the river. The small kitchen has an antique sink but no dishwasher. The cottage has central air conditioning. There is even a dock where your power boat can be docked. The cottage is a short walk from downtown shops and restaurants. Everything about this charming cottage is unique and will remind you of summer vacations at the lake when you were a kid; It may remind you of the cottage in the movie "On Golden Pond". For a romantic and tranquil vacation on the water, stay in the only floating Bed & Breakfast in Saugatuck/Douglas. The 105 foot houseboat is as nice as the finest home, yet sits on lovely Lake Kalamazoo. The large suites are elegantly furnished and have the most comfortable queen sized beds and linens available. Each suite has its own private bath, flat screened satellite TV with DVD player and a view of the water. The yacht has a large living room/great room with a state of the art entertainment center w/HD TV, large sofa/seating area and beautiful fireplace. There are several outside decks for lounging and having quiet conversations with that special someone. The upper party deck is gigantic and has a bar/social area with TV, a vast sunning area with lounge chairs and a large hot tub with built in lighting and stereo. The view of Lake Kalamazoo and Saugatuck is stunning during the day or night. It is centrally located just a short distance from either downtown Saugatuck or Douglas. The included full, breakfast is deliciously served in the dining area with every need taken care of by the gracious owner/innkeepers'. If you are nice, they may invite you onto their 38 ft power boat, where they live aboard which is docked next to the B & B. While you are enjoying your stay at a SummerFun Cottage or Marywood Manor B & B consider renting a motor scooter to make getting around Saugatuck/Douglas more fun and economical. Scooters are 50cc models and only require a valid driver's license. Helmets and training are provided free. Being a guest entitles you to a special rate that others can't enjoy.
